Matcha lattes are not only popular in cafes but also easy to make at home, making them a favourite among matcha tea lovers!

One of the most popular matcha food recipes is undoubtedly the “Matcha Latte.” It’s a creamy and frothy beverage made by blending matcha powder with hot milk (or a non-dairy alternative) and optionally sweetening it with honey or sugar. Here’s a simple recipe to make a classic Matcha Latte:

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon of high-quality matcha powder
  • 2 ounces of hot water (not boiling)
  • 6 ounces of steamed milk (or non-dairy milk of your choice)
  • Sweetener of your choice (such as honey, sugar, or maple syrup) to taste (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Sift the matcha powder into a cup or bowl to break up any clumps and ensure a smooth consistency.
  2. Add the hot (but not boiling) water to the matcha powder.
  3. Use a bamboo whisk or a small whisk to vigorously whisk the matcha and water together until smooth and frothy. This creates a concentrated matcha base.
  4. Heat and froth the milk using a milk frother, steam wand, or by vigorously whisking it in a saucepan until frothy.
  5. Pour the steamed milk into the matcha mixture while stirring gently to combine.
  6. Taste the latte and add sweetener if desired, adjusting to your preference.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious matcha latte!

Matcha lattes are not only popular in cafes but also easy to make at home, making them a favourite among matcha enthusiasts looking to enjoy the unique flavour and health benefits of matcha in a cozy and comforting drink.
